I received my Bachelor's degree from Indiana University in Telecommunications and Theatre in 1988. After experiencing acupuncture for the first time in 1994, I was immediately intrigued by the peace and stillness I could feel, and began researching the field of Chinese medicine. I received my Master's from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 1998. I continued my herbal education through Illinois State Acupuncture Association's Chinese herbal medicine program in 2000. I am National Board Certified by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and licensed by the state of Illinois.
Over the years I had found myself wanting to learn more regarding the effects that emotions and traumas from the past have on the energetic body and how this presents itself from one person to another. I was lucky to find Jin Shin Jyutsu which helps to explain the depths of the body where these traumas and trapped emotions can linger. I have found that when I combine the two modalities of Jin Shin Jyutsu and Acupuncture, I can help to guide the body to release the past and come to a greater place of balance. This leads to greater health and stillness in all of the levels of the individual, body, mind and spirit.
I have been in private practice since 1999, working with all ages from infants to the aged, and have seen a myriad of issues. Some of these issues include pain and arthritis, fertility and menopause, migraines and insomnia, anxiety and depression, digestive issues, issues relating to grief, and side effects of chemotherapy.
Some people prefer the acupuncture approach and other the hands-on Jin Shin Jyutsu approach. Together we will discuss a strategy that makes the most sense for the issues and the individual.
Please reach out with any questions; I look forward to working with you!
